executive coaching

“I worked with Jo over a six month period as I felt I needed some external perspective on a new role I had taken on, and support me in my change of direction.

Senior Leader, Scottish Widows

Executive Coaching has grown significantly in its popularity and recognition over the past decade.  Organisations and businesses acutely understand the impact and potential of investing in their people to strengthen skills and transform their development.

Commissioning an external Coach acts as an independent sounding board and can be instrumental in offering insight and a protected source of time, utilised to plan out goals, deliverables and apply reflective practice techniques.

Jo MacLennan, one of Fletcher Jones Directors has a proven track record of supporting C suite leaders who are seeking to enhance and stretch their performance.

There are a variety of scenarios as to when Coaching can add value to individuals in both their Executive and Non-Executive career paths.  There is significant evidence to suggest that the return on investment of Coaching for both the individual and subsequently the business, is exceptionally worthwhile.

Key examples include:

  • Performance Coaching – support a senior leader to ‘step up’ and develop into a role, particularly one that involves Executive Board experience or a succession planning scenario
  • Development Coaching – help develop senior leaders to reach their full potential as leaders/C-suite or beyond potential, aspiring Non-Executives
  • On-boarding – first 100 days of a CEO, CFO or CRO joining an organisation: external confidante on sensitive matters, supporting them to shape their entry into the business most effectively. Measurable and outcomes focused to ensure the leader has stretching goals
  • Off-boarding Coaching – to support an individual to move out of a business when a decision has been made to part company with the employee or Non-Executive Director

Generally a Coaching package is delivered in 6-8 sessions over a period of 3, 6 or 9 months dependent upon client and individual needs and indeed the intensity of the circumstances.  Most Coaching clients are comfortable in utilising a hybrid or fully online model to deliver sessions, however where desired, this can be carried out in a face to face manner.
